The Upper Colorado River is a wonderful tailwater fishery in Central Colorado that makes for an easy day trip from the broader Denver metro area, or a long weekend with friends. This picturesque stretch of river, lined with cottonwoods and willows and fishable much of the year, has earned a Gold Medal status for its abundance of medium to large-sized brown and rainbow trout.
Fishing this section of the Colorado is great for anglers of all skill sets, and while walk and wade access is plentiful, anglers seem to congregate in certain spots -- so the fish hold elsewhere. To really catch fish, it's not enough to find river access ... it REALLY helps to know the secret honey holes where the fish are holding, and the pressure is minimal. I've invested weeks on this river and know exactly where those spots are.
This self-guided experience will guide you to specific coordinates where the best fishing spots are, and how to reach them via hiking trails. I'll tell you how to get there, where to park, what hot spots to fish, what you'll catch, and how to have the best fly fishing excursion -- for a day or more, alone or with friends!
Here's what you get with each purchase.
